On any given morning, Stephen Kincaid is up bright and early as he prepares his retro mobile coffee bar trailer for customers clamoring for their daily cup of joe.

With a robust social media following and the promise of a new mobile Kincaid’s Coffee van set to make it’s debut in early 2016, it’s hard to believe that Kincaid’s Coffee is less than a year old.

After facing a corporate restructure at Acxiom in April of 2015, Stephen and his wife Elizabeth decided to follow their life-long passion and open a mobile coffee bar in Central Arkansas – Kincaid’s Coffee. Like many adults, Stephen’s first foray into the coffee world was through Starbucks. After seeking out something new from a local coffee stand in Conway run by a former employee of Alfred Peet, the grandfather of artisan coffee, Stephen turned his focus to the artisans roasting coffee in the natural state.

Serving up americanos and cold brew to silky fruit smoothies and fit frappes, there is truly something for everyone at Kincaid’s. Investing in locally roasted coffee from Mountain Bird Coffee Company located in Holiday Island, Arkansas, Kincaid seeks quality in every product he sells. “We get fresh coffee weekly, it’s fresher than what you can get at a chain,” says Stephen. “The vast majority of people are familiar with Starbucks and we do lots of flavored coffees and sugar sauces and syrups.”

This food truck not only offers drinks but handmade snacks, sandwiches and desserts from some of the most beloved food trucks in town including Clean Eatery, Loblolly Creamery, Hot Rod Weiners and Katmando Mo Mo. “It’s a very supportive environment,” says Stephen. “In the corporate world, there is a struggle to get to the top, but in the food truck industry it’s amazing to see everyone be so supportive. Everyone wants to see each other succeed because it helps you succeed.”

From starting off as a small food stand on the side of the road to rolling down the interstate with their retro shop in tow, there are big plans in store for Kincaid’s in 2016. The expansion of Kincaid’s Coffee to include a van will allow for new additions to the menu like soups and sandwiches. “With our business model, we want multiple vans up and running across Arkansas,” says Stephen. “Our goal is four to six vans.”

Stephen and Elizabeth are grateful for the support of the community who have embraced Kincaid’s Coffee. “Everyday I get to meet new people, I get to hear their stories; it’s the most fascinating thing,” says Stephen. “It’s where I’m supposed to be.
